Probiotic Complex Capsules 10 Billion CFU

The Gut Microbiome (or Microbiota, Microflora) that lives in our intestines plays a very important role as it 'digests' food and breaks it apart onto nutrients for our bodily processes. It is also our line of defence against harmful toxins that can affect our immune system. The microbiome often gets disrupted by the factors that we can divide onto 2 categories:

• Persistent: the food we eat, water we drink, air we breathe;
• Temporary: taking medicines, esp. antibiotics, change of diet (holidays in exotic countries etc.), drinking too much alcohol, diarrhoea.

Taking probiotics - usually in the form of kefir or yogurt but also as a food supplement - to rebuild our microflora is a quite common practice, but it is also worth trying on a more regular basis to help it tackle these persistent problems. The microbiome may get damaged by traces of antibiotics in the food we eat, especially in meat and farmed fish, by the chlorine in the water we drink, by consuming too much sugar; many of us have also experienced diarrhoea as a result of stress - these are just a few. Some people may also find it helpful to tackle an upset stomach after a night out with 'one drink too many'.

Our Probiotic Complex capsules contain a blend of six different bacterial strains including Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus and Streptococcus with added fructooligosaccharides (FOS) in an acid resistant capsule shell.
There are 2 sizes available: 60 and 120 capsules. The larger pack provides supply for up to 4 months (with a minimum dose of 1 per day).
