PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Evening Primrose is a plant native to North and South America but nowadays it also grows in Europe and Asia. Its flowers open at sunset and close during the day - hence its name. Native Americans have used its leaves, stems, roots and seeds for centuries to make remedies for many health problems. The plant's seeds are a good source of Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) which is an Omega-6 fatty acid. Human body needs fatty acids (essential fatty acids) to work properly.
Gamma Linolenic Acid is produced in our bodies from Linoleic Acid (LA), which in turn they take from foods such as meat, cooking oils, nuts, seeds and cheese and we usually eat enough of these to obtain as much LA as our bodies need. However, as we grow older the amount of GLA our bodies can produce decreases; there are also other factors that can affect making GLA, such as air pollution and smoking.
Our Evening Primrose Oil supplement comes in a form of easy to swallow softgel capsules. It has added Vitamin E as an antioxidant - it protects the oil in the softgels from going rancid, and also protects the cells in your body once swallowed.
