Alpha-Lipoic Acid (a.k.a. Lipoic Acid, ALA*) is a natural compound present in all human cells. It is used to break down carbohydrates and to make energy. As it is both water- and fat soluble it can work throughout the body.
* not to be confused with Alpha-Linolenic Acid which is an Omega fatty acid
Human body can produce Alpha-Lipoic Acid in small amount so it needs to be supplied in food we eat. Foods that contain decent levels of ALA include: red and organ meats, spinach, broccoli, carrots, beets, yams, tomatoes and brussels sprouts; however, the Lipoic Acid content in these is smaller than in its food supplement form.
Our Alpha-Lipoic Acid Capsules contain 300mg of ALA each so it is a good addition to your normal, healthy diet. One pack provides supply for up to 3 months.
